Transfer Talk: Arsenal issue Hazard warning to Premier League rivals

Arsenal have opened negotiations to bring Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard to the Emirates.

The ex-Chelsea attacker, 31, has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabeu since making the £88.5million switch to the Spanish capital.

The Belgian has only made 65 appearances for Los Blancos in a two-and-a-half year spell in Madrid, scoring on just six occasions.

French media report that the Gunners could offer the two-time Premier League winner a route back to the English top flight.

Hazard is only half way through a five-year contract with the LaLiga giants but is eager for a fresh start.

Real’s No7 is not part of Carlo Ancelotti’s preferred starting XI, behind Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio in the pecking order.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are keen for attacking reinforcements with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having already left for Barcelona and Alexandre Lacazette in the final months of his contract with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Newcastle are set to rival the North Londoners in any bidding race, with former employers Chelsea also monitoring the situation.
