Transfer Talk: Barca prepare double swoop for Haaland and Kessie

Barcelona are ready to join the race to sign Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland this summer.

Barca manager Xavi is overseeing a rebuilding process at the Camp Nou and he wants Haaland, 21, to lead their new-look attack.

There is a release clause in the Borussia Dortmund striker’s current deal — rumoured to be around £62million — which will come into play this summer.

And there will be a huge scramble for Haaland’s signature with all of Europe’s biggest clubs desperate to land football’s hottest property.

That includes Barca’s fierce rivals Real Madrid, while last week reports suggested that Manchester City were leading the race.

The Catalan giants have been hampered by financial issues in recent transfer windows yet Marca say club officials have met with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola over a potential deal.

It has been a frustrating season for the hitman, who has netted 23 goals but only played 20 games due to injury problems.

Elsewhere in Spain, Sport believe that Barca are also looking to complete a deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and will be one of the most sought after free agents in Europe.

He has already rejected a new deal from Milan, while the report suggests that offers from the likes of Arsenal and Everton did not attract him.

Now he looks set to swap the San Siro for the Camp Nou as Barca look to win LaLiga for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
