Mo Salah is near the top of Barcelona’s wanted list as they look to rebuild Xavi’s squad this summer.
Barca do not believe they will be able to sign Erling Haaland, so have turned their attentions elsewhere.
And Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo say that the Liverpool star is one of their main targets.
There has been little progress in talks over a new deal at Anfield for Salah, 29, with his current one ending in June 2023.
Jurgen Klopp has consistently said he is not worried about the delay, insisting the Egyptian wants to stay on Merseyside.
But Barca’s apparent interest will unsettle fans as they continue to improve under Xavi.
Salah has netted 153 goals in 239 appearances for the Reds since moving from Roma in 2017, winning the Premier League and Champions League in the process.
The report also mentions Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski as another option.
Lewandowski, 33, is in a similar position to Salah with his deal at the Allianz Arena running out in the summer of 2023.
In the summer, there were suggestions that the Polish international wanted to challenge himself at a new club come the end of the current campaign.
