Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up a blockbuster move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane next summer.
The Bavarians recently sounded out a potential approach for the England captain, 29, following Robert Lewandowski’s departure for Barcelona.
However, a deal failed to materialise, leaving Julian Nagelsmann without an out-and-out No9 leading the line this term.
Yet German outlet Bild claim Bayern remain interested in Kane, who is still to agree a new contract with Spurs.
With the striker’s current deal expiring in 2024, chiefs of the Bundesliga champions believe they can force the Premier League outfit into agreeing to his departure in a year’s time.
It remains to be seen whether Kane would be keen on the move though, with the Three Lions skipper said to be happy in North London since Antonio Conte’s arrival.
Despite that, uncertainty over the forward’s long-term commitment remains, with the Italian boss admitting the club would like him to sign an extension.
Conte said last week: “You know we are talking about an important player for Tottenham. And the desire of everybody into the club is [for Kane] to continue to stay with Tottenham, to sign a new contract.”
But with a major trophy still eluding him, the lure of joining a club guaranteed to challenge for top prizes could prove impossible to turn down.
