Crystal Palace are doing all they can to tie down talisman Wilfried Zaha ahead of the January window.
The Sun claim the Ivory Coast international, 29, has been offered a bumper new contract at Selhurst Park after his red-hot start to the season.
Zaha has four goals in five Premier League appearances this term, having been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton during the summer.
Yet while Palace managed to keep hold of the winger, his current deal runs out next June — meaning he can enter negotiations with foreign clubs over a free transfer in less than four months from now.
Eagles boss Patrick Vieira has made it clear to club chiefs that he would love the ex-Manchester United man to extend his stay in South London.
However, the lure of Champions League football has always been strong for Zaha and a new deal with his current club would effectively end his chances of achieving that dream.
Having progressed through the ranks at Palace, Zaha is already the club’s record Premier League appearance holder with 269 outings to date.
Asked recently about the challenge of ignoring speculation, he told reporters: “It’s not been difficult at all. I’ve just been focused on Palace in every game. I’ve gone to training and I’ve enjoyed it.
“We’ve got a massive understanding, everyone understands me. It’s different, it’s like a family here.
“I’m happy to be scoring goals but the team is all I’m thinking about.”
