PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo has reportedly ruled out a move to Leeds in the hope of joining a bigger club.
The highly-rated Netherlands international, 23, nearly signed for Leeds on transfer deadline day and the Yorkshire outfit were hopeful of striking a deal in January.
But after making a blistering start to the season, The Athletic report that Gakpo’s expectations have shifted and he is now eager to join a more established side.
Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential destinations for the Eredivisie star, all of which seem more attractive than a switch to Elland Road.
Gakpo is one Europe’s most in-form forward this term, managing an astonishing 14 goals and 11 assists in 18 appearances for club and country.
Leeds are not giving up hope of securing their target but that may prove more difficult after their current five-game winless run increased the prospect of a relegation battle this season.
The starlet will want to put himself in the shop window at the World Cup as he prepares to play a key role for the Netherlands at Qatar this winter.
It is indicated that PSV are likely to sell if a suitable fee comes in despite their star man being contracted to the club until the summer of 2026.
