Liverpool are plotting a swoop for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer.
The 25-year-old was subject to interest from Bayern Munich in the summer but a move fell through as the window came to a close.
Sky Germany are reporting that the Reds have been keeping a close eye on the Austrian international as his contract is set to expire in 2023.
The 5ft 9in maestro has been a key part of the Leipzig squad that finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season and his ability to read the game is a standout attribute.
Laimer scored four times and assisted as many in the 2021-22 campaign despite largely playing in a holding role.
The 24-cap international has featured 167 times for Leipzig and is unlikely to sign a new deal as he searches for a new challenge in his career.
And with the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara all ageing, Laimer could be the perfect replacement in midfield.
