Transfer Talk: Madrid waiting patiently for Kane contract decision

Real Madrid are monitoring Harry Kane’s contract situation at Tottenham and could make a move for the England skipper if he does not commit to a new deal.

Kane, 29, has spent his entire professional career at Spurs and broke into the first team after some successful loan spells at Leicester and Norwich.

The supreme finisher has since gone on to become the club’s all-time top goalscorer, surpassing Jimmy Greaves who netted 266 times for the North London outfit.

But silverware has eluded the No10 and hopes of winning a trophy in the 2022-23 campaign were ended with the Lilywhites crashing out of the FA Cup and Champions League within the space of a week.

The lack of success at his boyhood club has once again put the talisman in a sticky spot and he must decide whether he wants to remain loyal to Tottenham or move on in search of glory elsewhere.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich have both been heavily linked with the 80-cap international but a new option may have emerged with Los Blancos ramping up their interest, according to The Daily Mail.

The Champions League quarter-finalists are searching for a long-term replacement to fill Karim Benzema’s shoes and could be tempted to move for Kane should he not sign a new deal.

His current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024 but it would likely cost near the £100million mark to prise him away from North London before that.
