Transfer Talk: Magpies eye big-Neym summer signing

Newcastle want to make Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar their marquee summer signing.

A report by 90min indicates the Magpies’ Saudi owners are keen to bring a high-profile name to St James’ Park with qualification for next season’s Champions League looking likely.

They are also in the market for a left-sided forward and feel Neymar would be the perfect addition.

Eddie Howe’s men have a strong core of Brazilians within their squad and feel Neymar would fit in well with the likes of popular aces Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.

The 31-year-old’s days in the French capital look to be numbered, with the trickster and Lionel Messi likely to leave this summer as part of a squad rebuild.

Supporters of the Parisian club gathered outside the Brazil forward’s house on Wednesday and chanted for him to leave the club after they lost three of their last six Ligue 1 games.

Neymar, who is currently sidelined following ankle surgery, has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in the league this term.

PSG are aware few clubs can afford deal for No10, who has two years remaining on his contract, but Toon are among those who can.
