Transfer Talk: Mo problems for Klopp as Barca eye Salah

Barcelona have set their sights on signing Mohamed Salah next summer.

The Egyptian superstar has confirmed he will remain at Liverpool for another season but it appears increasingly unlikely he will extend his contract.

And that has given Barca fresh hope of landing him for nothing as a free agent when his deal expires in a year’s time.

According to the Mirror, the LaLiga giants have largely put their money worries behind them thanks to a £235million partnership with audio streaming platform Spotify.

Barcelona boss Xavi is already confident of signing prolific Bayern Munich marksman Robert Lewandowski and has reportedly spoken to Wolves playmaker Ruben Neves.

But his interest in Salah, 29, leaves Liverpool with a difficult decision to make.

While the forward insists he remains committed to the Carabao Cup and FA Cup holders, the Reds are in two minds about allowing him to run down the final 12 months of his deal.

If they were to do the seemingly unthinkable and put him up for sale, Barca and any other interested clubs would be forced to show their hand.

But that would be a far from ideal scenario for boss Jurgen Klopp, who already faces losing Sadio Mane before the start of the season.

Blues want Dembele

Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to land Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele this summer.

Dembele, 25, will be available on a free when his contract at the Camp Nou expires at the end of the month.

And talkSPORT claim the Blues are keen to kick off the Todd Boehly era by landing the France international.

Having joined Barca for an initial £97million in August 2017, Dembele has been hampered by injuries and is widely considered to have failed to live up to the promise he showed at Borussia Dortmund and Rennes.

But that has seemingly not put off Chelsea, who are keen to make a marquee signing following the successful takeover by the Boehly-led consortium.
