Transfer Talk: Real prepared to table big Mane for Sadio

Real Madrid may move for Sadio Mane this summer as they look to rebuild their squad.

The Spanish giants are desperate to bring star quality to the Bernabeu and have been linked with both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

But if they fail to get either of those deals over the line, their attention will turn to the Liverpool star.

Reports in Spain say that Real have renewed confidence that they can lure Mane away from Anfield.

He is yet to sign a new contract on Merseyside with his current one running out at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Though he is a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s side, the signing of Luis Diaz and emergence of Diogo Jota means his departure would be less catastrophic than two years ago.

Mane has 108 goals in 247 games since arriving at Liverpool in 2016, and has scored 11 times in all competitions this term.

According to CalcioMercato, the Reds are already lining up Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez as a potential replacement.

The 24-year-old failed to net in the first leg of Inter’s Champions League last-16 tie against Liverpool last week, but is a player Klopp admires.

Martinez will not come cheap having signed a new deal at the San Siro in October.

That contract runs until 2026 and does not include a release clause with the Serie A champions desperate to keep their star striker.
