Leroy Sane could be set for a stunning Premier League return with Manchester United monitoring the Bayern Munich winger.
Sane, 26, was restricted to only 22 Bundesliga starts last term and had to settle for a 25-minute cameo in his side’s season-opening 6-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sadio Mane’s recent arrival in Bavaria is expected to limit opportunities further and the Mirror claim United are ready to offer him an exit route.
Sane would have no problems acclimatising to Premier League football having enjoyed a four-year stint with the Red Devils’ fierce local rivals Manchester City.
The German international was one of Pep Guardiola’s first additions as Citizens boss back in 2016 and played a pivotal role in bringing two titles to the Etihad.
New United boss Erik ten Hag appears keen to play with pacy forwards, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial all featuring prominently in pre-season.
Yet the Dutchman is keen to add more depth in wide areas, making a move for Sane viable – though he is not the only speedster on the club’s radar.
First choice is still thought to be Ajax star Antony, though the Eredivisie champions are desperate to keep hold of their 22-year-old talisman.
They have slapped an £80million price tag on his head which has supposedly led Old Trafford officials to look elsewhere for the moment.
However, there is a feeling a deal could still be revisited later in the window.
