Tottenham are reportedly hot on the trail of RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.
Football Insider claim Spurs sent scouts to watch the centre-back, 20, in action during his side’s 2-0 Champions League win over Celtic on Tuesday.
Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the highly-rated ace and could be in pole position to sign him having already reportedly agreed a pre-contract with Gvardiol’s team-mate Christopher Nkunku.
But the Croatia international has been on Tottenham’s radar for two years and the North Londoners are expected to put up quite a fight to land him.
The left-footer was on their wanted list before Leipzig won the race to sign him for £18million.
Staying put
Christian Pulisic insists he is happy to battle for a place at Chelsea.
The American, 24, has endured a slow start to the season with both former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and successor Graham Potter using him sparingly.
He joined the Londoners for £58m in January 2019 and was immediately loaned back to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the 2018-19 campaign.
Rumours of a January return to the Bundesliga cranked up once again earlier this week when a TikTok from two years ago of Pulisic in a Dortmund training top resurfaced.
But the attacker moved to kill off talk of an exit during a chat with GQ. He said: “I made a TikTok with my dog not thinking much of it, just wearing my, you know, my former team’s training shirt that I still had.
“Yeah, it’s funny. It doesn’t mean anything really. I’m still extremely happy with the team I’m on now. So I’m happy.”
Pulisic started and scored last Saturday as Chelsea beat Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
