Tottenham have revived their interest in USA and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
McKennie, 24, was an integral part of his country’s midfield during their World Cup campaign as they bowed out to the Netherlands in the last 16.
The Juventus man started all four games and executed the No8 role to perfection with ball-carrying and progressive passes key features of his game.
Spurs were interested in the Texas-born playmaker in the summer and could now return for him in January, according to Calciomercato.
Competition for places in Turin have meant that McKennie has played 90 minutes only three times in Serie A this season as he battles for favour under Max Allegri.
With four goal contributions across all competitions, the 40-cap international would provide extra depth in midfield to challenge the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Reports suggest that a deal would be difficult to achieve due to the relationship between the Old Lady and Fabio Paratici as the club remains under investigation for financial offences.
However, the Italian giants’ struggles could translate into success for the North London club, with cheap deals likely to be on the horizon to balance the books in Turin.
