Manchester United have identified a three-man list of alternatives should they fall short in their pursuit of Harry Kane.
The Tottenham striker, 29, is United’s top target this summer but with Spurs reluctant to sell their star man, a shortlist of backup options is also being drawn up.
FourFourTwo indicate that list is made up of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Tammy Abraham of Roma and Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
Plan B should they miss out on the England captain is believed to be Kolo Muani, 24, who is enjoying a sensational season in the Bundesliga.
The France forward has scored 20 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions and is expected to be on the market for £61.7million this summer.
Abraham is next on the list as the Red Devils consider an option already well-versed with English football, having previously netted 30 times in 82 appearances for Chelsea.
The 25-year-old has continued his scoring exploits since joining Roma in the summer of 2021 and is regularly linked with a move back to the English top flight.
Inter ace Martinez, also 25, is another to attract plenty of interest in the past and is enjoying one of his most fruitful campaigns to date this term.
The Argentine has netted 21 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions so far in 2022-23.
