Manchester United are ready to move for reported Arsenal target Cody Gakpo.
The Red Devils have ended their interest in Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic after a £7.5million bid was rejected and fans made their feelings clear on the move.
But Erik ten Hag is still desperate for United to sign a new striker and attention has turned to PSV star Gakpo according to The Telegraph.
The 23-year-old can play as a winger or through the middle and netted twice in PSV’s opening win over FC Emmen at the weekend, as well as 21 times last term.
Crucially for United, the Dutch outfit would likely only ask for £35m for the Netherlands international — half the price Ajax want for top target Antony.
Ex-Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy is the boss at PSV and the report suggests the Red Devils have made contact.
Gakpo is also represented by the same management company as boss Ten Hag, who came up against him regularly during his time in charge of Ajax.
Arsenal have been the Premier League side most often linked with Gakpo but have failed to sell record signing Nicolas Pepe.
United’s interest may tempt them to make their move, which could drive the price up.
